What a great show the people at Zynga put on at SXSW. Headlining the event was Tv on the radio and Sleigh Bells. The entire event had a carnival theme so when the poster was created that theme was kept in mind. After the show, as you left everyone who attended was given a free silkscreen poster designed and printed by us. Poster Design by Tad Carpenter.

We thought this would be a perfect opportunity to highlight Hydro 74 as one of our favorite clients to print for. It helps show our breadth of abilities and highlight Lemon Lime’s skills, as well as adding music by our local Kansas City friends in Maps For Travelers. Had so much fun creating this piece for a show at Gallery 1988. The gallery asked artist to create a piece in honor of of the late great John Hughes. We had to go with a John Candy film and love Great Outdoors. We decided to make a plush of John Candy including the lamp riffle and infamous Big Bear, Big Big Bear. This was a serious group effort. Tad’s Dad a great illustrator helped Tad get Candy’s expression right, Dan Screen printed Tad’s illustration on all the fabric, Dan’s fiancee Melissa cut each print out and Tad’s Mom sewed each print into a plush. WOW, takes a village. You can purchase the plush over at Gallery 1988. Each is signed and numbered.

One of our favorite people to work with over the years is Myspace. They recently came to us and asked us to illustrate the top 50 records of 2010. Myspace wanted each image to be simple and clever. Each piece was released on Myspace’s site with a count down of the top 50 records of 2010. We also designed a poster with all 50 images for a year in review party for Myspace. Needless to say we had a blast working on this and soaking up all the good music for 2010. You can view all graphics and article here.

Always a lot of fun to work with our friends at Myspace. When designing a poster for Matt & Kim whose new album will be releasing soon, we tried to play on a lot of the new song titles and imagery from the band to create the poster. Everything from a song title like camera, Matt’s round glasses to the state of New York where the band is from shows up on the poster. Really loved working on this poster. Pick one up Matt & Kim.
