Tribute to John Hughes: The Great Outdoors
Had so much fun creating this piece for a show at Gallery 1988. The gallery asked artist to create a piece in honor of of the late great John Hughes. We had to go with a John Candy film and love Great Outdoors. We decided to make a plush of John Candy including the lamp riffle and infamous Big Bear, Big Big Bear. This was a serious group effort. Tad’s Dad a great illustrator helped Tad get Candy’s expression right, Dan Screen printed Tad’s illustration on all the fabric, Dan’s fiancee Melissa cut each print out and Tad’s Mom sewed each print into a plush.
